No public-media inference: Withholding an image does not mean the observation is false. It means the site has not yet documented a sufficient publication basis.
Review before publication
Confirm submitter authority, credit, date, species label, intended use, faces, license plates, house numbers, personal documents, children, and sensitive wildlife locations.
Public derivatives
Publish only a purpose-limited copy after review. Remove location metadata and redact privacy risks; retain a private original only under the submitter’s consent and the approved evidence workflow.
Current inventory result
The evidence audit found a large legacy set of resident wildlife, flooding, and community images, but no complete record of dates, credits, or publication permissions. Those files were removed from the public deployment tree and retained in the repository’s non-public research area for owner review.
Species counts on the Species and Law page describe historical labels only; they do not republish images or expose precise locations.
Safe submission checklist
- Submit only material you created or are authorized to share.
- Provide the observation date and a broad, non-sensitive location.
- Do not publish nests, burrows, precise GPS, private addresses, or access routes.
- Identify visible people and state whether publication permission exists.
- Keep the original; do not edit it merely to make a claim appear stronger.
